Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Banahene in goal celebration
By Ameenu Shardow
Emmanuel Banahene wants a chance to prove he is probably the answer to Ghana’s striking problems with a maiden Black Stars call up.
The ex Berekum Chelsea player’s good form so far in the Turkish second tier has fetched him 12 goals in 23 appearances for Karsiyaka where he is on loan from Ordurspor.
Banahene’s new found form has catalyzed a crusade by many to have him included in the next Ghana squad for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan later this month.
And the 24-year-old is ever eager to prove his worth if invited on the back of his impressive form in Turkey.
“If officials and the coach will give me the chance, of course I am ready to come and show what I also have,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.
“If my performance here in Turkey catches their eye, I am ever ready to come and play for the national team.”
Banahene is likely to be recalled by Ordurspor when his loan spell at Karsiyaka expires at the end of the season.
Yate aaaaaaabr3.
In form this, in form that. You bring them on board and only over the bars they know best.
Turkish second tier?! Is this the best we can do?
Thank you Kwame for good observation, this was a guy who as at the time when he was leaving Ghana was top striker in the premiership in Ghana. How can he go and play in the second tier for all this years? You people are those making GFA look so good.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
there they go again with their useless publicity!inform my foot!!! i’ll rather prefer a player in the second tier in spanish, england, france, italy or the germany league.i keep on saying that Abeyie, jordan, yiadom and Gyan can solve our striking woes if only those corrupt GFA official with do away from their selfish interest.
Please stop calling the players for coach let coach and his scute do their job please Akasamafo
The best we can get For our striking department is grooming. We bave boakye yiadom in the stead and he is one for the future. Your nine day wonder would not shake us
Boakye Yiadom is one our option who can easily convert half chance to goal.Emmanuel Banahene at all but what of Depay
