I don't want to run unopposed in GFA Presidential elections - Kwesi Nyantakyi

Kwesi Nyatakyi insists he doesn’t want to go unopposed in the upcoming Ghana FA Presidential elections.

The GFA will be going to the polls later this year to elect new executives with the presidency of the association also up for grabs.

Former Hearts Oak chief Vincent Sowah Odotei and grassroots coach Ofiebea Ramatu have so far confirmed their intention to contest against incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi.

There are however subtle rumours Executive Committee member Randy Abbey is preparing himself to also run for the position.

Critics say Kwesi Nyantakyi is already petrified by the prospect of being contested for the GFA’s Presidency and is therefore plotting to go unopposed.

But the lawyer is adamant he is opened to competition and will literally beg for candidates to run against him for the elections.

“I don’t want to go unopposed,” Nyantakyi told Happy FM.

“If it turns out that I stand alone, then I will urge for people to be begged to come and contest.

“Competition brings the best out of a person so I am open to such competitions.

“He [Randy Abbey] first of all has the right to contest just like anyone who is eligible to.

“I am not afraid of competition so everyone is welcome.”
