Atalanta forward Richmond Boakye-Yiadom announced his return to the Ghana squad with a brilliant flicking header but that was not enough as FC Sion's Moussa Konate scored a brace to fire the Teranga Lions to their second straight win over Ghana.

Boakye, who was returning to the Ghana squad since June 2013, flicked a header past Senegal keeper Abdoulaye Diallo from a trademark cross from Harrison Afful with six minutes left to play.

But his effort was not enough as Konate had already sealed the game for with strikes in the 66th and 76th minutes.

Ghana went into the game searching for reprieve after losing against the same side at the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea.

GHANAsoccernet.com's El Akyereko Frimpong rates the performance of the Black Stars players on Saturday night from France.

RAZAK BRAIMAH - Goalkeeper 6/10

The UD Mirandes glovesman won the nod over AshGold's Fatau Dauda but he ended the night on a sad note as he picked two goals from his net. Neither of the goals was not directly his fault but proper organisation from a goalkeeper could have averted the concessions.

FRANK ACHEAMPONG - Left-back 5.5/10

Acheampong who stepped in for crocked Augsburg FC defender showed glimpses of brilliance in defence, one of such tackles in the first-half denied Demba Ba a chance to score. At least he managed to hold the fort bold enough before he exited and Ghana conceded.

HARRISON AFFUL - Right-back 6/10

Though the Esperance de Tunis man was left exposed on a couple of times by the artistic Sadio Mane, he enjoyed a good game. His breathtaking trademark cross on the 84th minute reached Boakye-Yiadom who flicked the ball past Diallo - the Senegalese keeper for the consolation goal.

JONATHAN MENSAH - Central defence 6/10

The Evian Thonon Gaillard man suffered an injury in the 35th minute and had to be replaced by FC Copenhagen's Daniel Amartey. Before he was substituted the strong man looked commanding and thwarted several efforts by the Senegalese attackers.

JOHN BOYE - Central defence 7/10

Though its not within his JD to score goals, the Kayseri Erciyesspor man should have scored the opening goal for Ghana on his return to France. He was presented with a great chance inside the Senegalese box but he fired wide unmarked. He was apt on his duties. His only fault was allowing Konate to pounce on the first goal. Overall good effort.

WAKASO MUBARAK - Central midfield 8/10

Obviously Ghana's best man on the night. The 24-year-old who plays for Scottish giants Celtic commanded the midfield with his energy and ran the show. His efficient contractor of set-pieces and created problems for the Senegalese midfielder.

AFRIYIE ACQUAH - Central midfield 6.5/10

The Sampdoria man showed some good energy in the midfield but wasn't a night one could say he was super outstanding as he set his own standards in Equatorial Guinea two months ago. However it was clear that he was pivotal in the game as the Senegalese struggled to hold him. Replaced by Udinese's Agyemang-Badu in the 65th minute.

ANDRE AYEW - Free role 6.5/10

Took over the armband from Asamoah Gyan who missed the game with injury. Playing in France, there was massive expectations from Andre Ayew but an early injury he suffered looks to have slowed the early promise he showed in the game when the Lions struggled to contain him with his skills and artistry. Was clearly limping in the latter parts of the game.

CHRISTIAN ATSU - Winger 6/10

The Everton man went quiet on the night after showing flashes of brilliance in the first-half. His impact was limited to sharing a couple passes on the flanks until he was replaced by Asante

KWESI APPIAH - Forward 6/10

Demonstrated some calm and collectiveness upfront in the first-half but as the second-half wore on, it became obvious that he could not march up. His partnership with Jordan Ayew did not gel. Still needs some more work to hold down a regular place in the squad.

JORDAN AYEW - Forward 6/10

The Senegalese defence managed to cow Jordan Ayew into submission with constant pestering and tackles which weakened the Lorient man. He dropped deep and picked ball to create space and chances for Appiah. But he suffered so many tackles.
