How 2013 Africa Cup of Nations draw will work

Caf's draw will be held on Thursday
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced how Thursday’s final qualifiers draw for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations will be done.
According to CAF, the 15 seeded teams represented by 15 balls will be in Pot A, while 15 other teams will be in Pot B.
A third Pot C will contain a total of 30 balls representing teams from both Pots A and B.
If ball A is drawn first from Pot C, it means that the team drawn from Pot A will play their first match at home and the team drawn from Pot B will play their second match at home.
If ball B is drawn first from Pot C, it means that the team drawn from Pot B will play their first match at home and the team drawn from Pot A will play their second match at home.
The seeded teams are Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Equatorial, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Tunisia and Zambia.
The teams not seeded are Botswana, Cape Vert, Central Africa, Ethiopia, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, DR Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
The winners of these third round qualifiers will be played between September and October with the winners decided on a knockout basis.
Thursday’s draw will be staged in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Next year’s AFCON will kick off in South Africa on January 19.

The 15 teams of the level 1 namely ; Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, Ghana,
Guinea, Guinea Equatorial, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Tunisia, Zambia will be in Pot A and the 15 teams of
level 2 namely, Botswana, Cap Vert, Central Africa, Ethiopia, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, RD
Congo, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo , Uganda, Zimbabwe will be in Pot B and pot C will contain 2 balls: ball A and
ball B
Step 1: A draw made to pick one team from Pot A
Step 2: A draw made to pick one team from Pot B
Step 3: A ball will be taken from Pot C.
If ball A is drawn first from Pot C, it means that the team drawn from pot A will play his 1
st
match at home and the
team drawn from pot B will play his 2
nd
match at home.
If ball B is drawn first from pot C, it means that the team drawn from pot B will play his 1
st
match at home and the
team drawn from pt A will play his 2
nd
match at home.
This operation will be repeated for 15 times to determine the 30 matches.
Teams must pray to avoid Zambia
