Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Herbert Addo is sure no home-based tactician will apply for the vacant Ghana coaching post despite the Ghana Football Association publicly advertising the role.

The Ghana Football Association are working to fill the void created by Kwesi Appiah's sacking last week with the GFA reportedly receiving 18 applications from foreign-based trainers.

And, Herbert Addo who has been shortlisted for the role in the past says he is sure no local coach will apply for the job.

"I saw in the papers that they are not looking for applicants. Who is going to apply from Ghana? I'm sure no coach will apply. Some of us have applied before and we know what happened. With what we've been hearing about his sacking its not based on technical grounds so it’s not possible," he said.

Kwesi Appiah was axed by the Ghana Football Association following Ghana's unconvincing start to the 2015 AFCON qualifying campaign.
