Hearts transfer-list three senior players -reports

Posted On Monday, 13th August 2012

Winger Douglas Nkrumah could be transfer-listed by Hearts

By Patrick Akoto

CK Akunnor is desperate to rebuilding the fortunes of Hearts by axing three senior players, according to reports in the local media.

The former Ghana international has reportedly listed winger Douglas Nkrumah and Samuel Enzemaba as available for transfer alongside midfielder Kofi Abanga.

The phobians are anxious to return to the top of Ghana football after playing catch-ups to Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars in the past three seasons.

The 2000 African champions last won the league in 2009- which is considered unpardonable by their supporters and are desperate to build a crack side that will be capable of reclaiming the Premier League crown from their arch-rivals.

Coach Akunnor  is determined to revamp the team by making drastic changes to the playing body that will see some old faces being shown the exit to make way for new crop of players who will be hungry for success.

The capital-based side have completed the signing of Seth Owusu and Gilbert Fiamenyo from Medeama and Heart of Lions respectively.

But they are yet to conclude deals for New Edubiase midfield duo Asiedu Atobrah and Sekyi Quaye as well as Mighty Jets enforcer Tamimu Muntari.

  3. Emmanuel Nii Charway says:

Please leave Abanga and Douglas in the club for God’s sake they have the experience we need this time around.

  4. Nii says:

Indeed, Abanga deserves another year considering the long injury he suffered when playing for Hearts. We should remember the case of Michael Essien who has been given extension to his contract though he never featured a lot for Chelsea .

  5. Tio fidelis says:

He shud do it. Cos we want de cup back.

  6. crusader says:

Infact, abanga must be given a chance this season….for christ sake, this guy has been battling with injuries. we gotta support him ….
