Hearts of Oak are counting on new signing Ezekiel Tetteh to fill the void created by former captain and top marksman Mahatma Otoo.

Tetteh scored six goals in seven Division One League matches and two in three Middle League matches for Okwahu United last season.

The former Sporting Mirren was the only non-Premier League player in the local Black Stars squad.

Hearts believes the 21-year old he has the qualities to replace Otoo who banged in 20 goals to emerge top scorer of the league.

“He is a chap we have looked at for a long time and the coach feels he will fit in, management have total confidence that he will repay us with goals,” Hearts of Oak spokesperson Muheeb Saeed told GHANASoccernet.com

Hearts were the second highest scoring side in the Ghana Premier League with 17 goals but their strikers have failed to score.

Strikers Gilbert Fiamenyo and Selasie Adjei have managed just two goals all season.

Midfielders Winful Cobbinah and Emmanuel Hayford are the club’s top scorers with four goals.

Hearts ended the first half of the season in third behind AshantiGold and leaders Asante Kotoko.
