Hearts thump Wassaman, Dwarfs shock Arsenal

Posted On Wednesday, 2nd May 2012

Hearts of Oak beat struggling Wassaman United 3-0 on Wednesday

Hearts of Oak beat struggling Wassaman United 3-0 in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

Striker Mahatma Otoo, Uriah Asante and defender Osei Bonsu scored the goals that consigned the debutant to their 14th defeat of the campaign.

Hearts’ inconsistent run of form could have inspired Wassaman to boost their relegation fight but they ended up being humiliated.

Otoo was played through by Prince Attakorah Gyimah and the former Ghana U20 skipper maintained his composure to plant the ball firmly behind Stephen Ahorlu for his ninth goal of the season.

The opener stabilised the ‘Phobians’ and urged them on to double the scoring but Sadat Karim, Uriah Asante and Prince Attakorah Gyimah found Wassaman’s defence more conscious this time.

Wassaman though outpaced and outclassed in midfield, had some brilliant moments to equalise but midfielder Abdul Bashiru had his effort twice saved by Sammy Adjei.

Hearts coach C.K Akonnor was forced to replace talented midfielder Karim Sadat after the Berekum Chelsea loanee picked a up an injury.

Olleenu Ashitey, a graduate from the Hearts junior side, took his place and gave a good account of himself before the first half petered.

Wassaman tried a quick counter under the first minute of the second half but Salifu Mumuni was ruled offside.

Abdul Bashiru was marched off on his return to his former club for a bad challenge on a Hearts midfielder on 58 minutes.

Hearts took advantage of the numerical upper-hand and doubled the scoring nine minutes later.

Substitute Ollenu Ashitey hit the byline in a delightful move.

The youngster tried a weakened effort at Ahorlu but the former Ghana keeper spilled the chance.

Abubakar Moro’s effort was blocked before Uriah Asante showed them how to score.

Coach C.K Akonnor might have got things right by bringing on the young Oleinu.

He caused a lot of havoc and discomfort for Wassaman as he won a penalty on the 77th minute.

Defender Godwin Osei Bonsu stepped up and blasted beyond Ahorlu to make it 3-0.

Ebusua Dwarfs earned a shock 1-0 win at Berekum Arsenal to keep their hosts in the drop.

Ha ha ha ha! I knew this is how the result of Boko haram of Oaks and Wassaman was going to end. Everybody knew for sure that Wassaman being a Boko Haram of Oaks annex “E” in the Ghanaian league, and so Wassaman would play the game sooo childishly soft for Boko Haram of Oaks to win massively so that tensions would recede and some little confidence can be restored in the Phobian brand. Ei ewiase, Hmm! Some people simply bought PIG in a POKE.
