Hearts supporters' chief calls for coach Akunnor's dismissal

Posted On Sunday, 28th October 2012

Under pressure Hearts of Oak coach CK Akunnor

Leading Hearts of Oak supporter Aziz Haruna Futa has called for the immediate dismissal of coach CK Akunnor.

The call is being made following the woeful run of the Phobians haven lost three games on the bounce.

The Ghana Premier League giants are hovering above the relegation zone with just four points out of a possible fifteen.

The massive slump has seen fans agitate for Akunnor’s dismissal – a call which is being well epitomized by Futa due to what he alleges to be the failure of the ex XI Wise coach to show leadership in a ‘bickering’ side.

“I learnt that what is going on on the bench is not good at all,” he told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

“The players are fighting amongst themselves, the technical team are fighting amongst themselves and it is not good at all.

“So as a coach if you are not able to organize your team then it will be proper for you to leave.

“There is a whole lot of problems but for now the coach should go. Half of the problems will be solved when he leaves.”

Akunnor took up the Hearts job in the second half of last season from Serbian Nebojsa Vucicevic who was dismissed on basically the same grounds.

Two weeks ago, I stated emphatically that Hearts will continue to lose like a pouring water “waa, waa, waa, waa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11. Now they will change coaches like a new rich man changes under wears. Next Sunday, they may win their match against RTU, then lose again “waa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Hahahaha..so am not the probelm after all thank u Aziz, see the reason why i took my own water, food etc to camp and i was suspended???

    • gamatche says:

Yes you were suspended for being indiscipline which you have demonstrated throughout your footballing career. so if you think hearts losing verifies this remark form you then you are transparent as well as naive. just ask around not from your sycophants, but genuine soccer lovers and let them tell you haow they rate you – talented yet indiscipline

  3. Nii says:

I have said that Hearts is too big for Akunnor to handle.Once again, what is CK’s coaching pedigree ? He only coached Eleven Wise which eventually went to relegation. He never won a league, FA or a ceremonial cup as a coach in Ghana. Now why entrust him with such huge club like Hearts ? Those who recruited him must as well be fired just as Akunnor should go immediately. Once again give Mohammed Polo a chance if we need an ex footballer to handle Hearts.

    • regga molten says:

nii, i think the problem does not lie with the coach alone but we should extend it to mgt too..this is because, the crop of players donning the rainbow colours now seem not to fit into and we always hear from mgt. & board before the start of every league season since the yr.2006 dat they have recruited good players and that they will never reveal this to the media unlez the season begins..this has been the words from mgt. & board for the past six(6)yrs.so the queston all of us to ask is’are there not quality and experienced players in gh? if no, then were comes the likes of sadik adams, eric bekoe, ransford osei, kofi nti boakye, richard mpong,to mention a few..who knows, maybe the coach(ck) would have made such recommendations to mgt. & board but the issue is are they ready to spend the cash to get dis players? i think the answer is NO!!!!!..WE NEED GOOD & EXPERIENCED PLAYERS NOT THIS ONES COS SOME OF THEM JUST DONT FIT INTO THE GREAT FAMILY..mgt. wake up cos the oak tree is falling!

  4. Maxwell Johnson says:

The team’s abysmal performance has nothing to do with CK but rather the players, though i agree that he changed almost the whole team during the off-season by axing most of the experience players and bringing in many young players. That doesn’t seem to be working, it will be good if he blends some of the experience players with the new young ones.

With that the results will surely start coming, but am pleading with mgt not to fire C.K it will be a DISASTER if they do so cuz all the work he has done will go waste which means the new manager that will come will have to start all over again and that wont be good for the team. I’ve watched almost all the games the team has played this season and we seem to be struggling a lot at the back, especially @ the LB position.

I also think we were a bit complacent after the emphatic 5-2 win over New Edubiase, I think all of this might have accounted for the team’s recent poor showing, 3 successive defeats is definitely not good for a team like H.O.O but this is football.

There are 25 more matches to go and I believe we can still bounce back, the league is far from over and therefore anything at all can happen.

  5. Bismark Swanzy says:

I’m far better than Ck, when it comes to coaching. He is just a useless and hopeless coach. He only help teams to be relegated that is it. He must go Asap. Give the team to Mohammed polo or sampson lamptey to coach peroid.

  6. Richie Nel says:

I dont know what CK is teaching these players. The same school boys are playing (players who cannot perform). He did the recruitment, so he has no excuse. My advice to CK is that he should teach the forward liners to fall back and help the defence when they loose the ball. They should not stay there and leave the defence alone. If CK has ears he should try that method and Hearts will never loose again.

  7. NTI GORDON says:

Hearts players, yesterday do not do anything especialy the defenders Nti Gordon Drobo B/A

  8. When was the last time hearts of oak won a cup.yesterday,i was at the golden city park.with this team,it will be a long way.

WE SHD BRING COACH SEBASTIAN BARNES OF GERMAN SIDE BAYER LEVERKUSEN NOW. AKUNOR SHD BE DISMISSED

  10. Fresher says:

I think Hearts of Oaks should take it easy. It is too soon to call for CK AKKUNOR’s sack at the moment when the is not even a quarter way yet. It is high time Phobian supporters must know how dangerous and destructive the type of people like Mr Akambi, Kwaku Edusei (aka Kanewu), Ali Phobia and Abdul Aziz Haruna are to the club. They are the dangerous dissenters who happen to drag the club backwards, these guys threatens anyone with the acumen to lead the club forward. These guys are the jinx that the Phobian supporters must chase out instead of CK AKKUNOR, COACH CK needs to be given more chance, I personally have some seen improvement in H of Oaks pattern of play, it is just the goals that proves elusive, and it is a phenomenon that every club is suffering these days. This is the time H of Oaks supporters should rally behind coach CK AKKUNOR so that he can turn things around for the better.

Akonnor knows hearts is bigger than him but he cannot resign himself, he have to be fired

  14. thesalonika says:

Comrades, never attempt to condemn C K Akunnor. He has not done anything to warrant a sack. The problem lies in Hearts’ bogus player recruitment exercise for the ongoing Glo Premier league. I have been wondering and asking myself whether Hearts’ pedigree in poaching excellent players to don the rainbow colours has vanished into thin air. Are the management members, patrons and supporters (Chapters)not living up to their responsibilities? It is very sad that Hearts will continuously give away their known image so easily to smaller clubs such as Berekum Chelsea, Aduana Stars, Medeama SC and the likes on a silver platter for many years now. What is happening? It’s very shameful. Those managing the club currently must know one thing for sure, that Hearts was formed on the basis of hard work, love, commitment and sacrifice. They should go back and read the history of the club. But what do we see today? Continuous infighting, not on the basis of genuine grievances but selfish interests. Let me sound a word of caution to these faceless people. If they think they have no solution to the mess that they have created, they should rather be humble and honest enough to call it quits and allow those who are amenable to the Hearts’ spirit to guard and guide them in the running of the great Oak Tree, otherwise……………….A word to the wise is enough. We cannot continue to be losing our matches like that. Leave C K Akunnor alone, he has not done anything wrong to warrant a sack. If you are a player and you don’t behave well, he has all the right in the world to discipline you. No player is above his coach. Am I sounding sensible?
