Hearts revival pegged back by AshGold

Posted On Sunday, 2nd December 2012

Struggling AshantiGold shocked Hearts of Oak with a 1-0 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Ghana top-flight.

Former Ghana U17 attacker Aaron Amoah scored the match winner for the Miners on the half hour mark with a powerful angled effort.

Mahatma Otoo came close to levelling the scoring but Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda denied him on all occasions.

Both sides finished with ten men each as midfielder David Telfer and Nuru Suley got sent off for AshantiGold and Hearts of Oak respectively.

Hearts were hoping to record their second win under new coach David Duncan but were forced to swallow defeat on home turf.

That is the prize paid for bad recruitment. Let us wait next time when the finest have all been recruited, then we resort to obscurities then decorate them with the Phobian colours and expect them to perform. How weak and inconsistent has the great club been. But still we are not learning.

  5. Fresher says:

Long live ET Mensah, Dr Sika Asem and other concerned members of sports callers association of Ghana for voicing out loud Ghanaians shared fears about the way Ghana football is being destroyed with through an influence wielded by a certain overbloated man who cannot withstand the sight of seeing his darling club beaten. If it weren’t for ET Mensah and his colleagues outpouring of outcry, a different result would have been told at the Late Ohene Djan sports Stadium today. ET MENSAH and CO, keep up your good work in advancing the call to EXPOSE and RID Ghana football of hideous mafias like Randy Abbey who hide behind their appointment to aid their club achieve undeserved victories. I say to ET & co, long live to you and your organization and more grease to your elbows.
