Accra Hearts of Oak have been dealt a hammer blow in their quest to secure Professor J K Mintah for vacant coaching role as the University of Cape Coast lecturer has ruled himself out of the job.

The former CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup title winners were hoping to lure the former Ebusua Dwarfs lecturer back into active coaching and reportedly consult with the coach who combines psychology and knowledge of the game to achieve optimum results.

Mintah's Dwarfs some two seasons ago, got many clubs seeking his services, with Hearts being one of his strong admirers but he instead acted as psychologist for Ghana's Black Stars during Kwesi Appiah's spell at the helm.

"It is not possible for me to have two full time jobs at the same time because the Hearts of Oak is on full time basis and I'm also a lecturer here at the university so unless I retire from lecturing," he told Accra-based Oman FM.

Mintah's relationship with Dwarfs deteriorated over off the field issues and somewhat poor string of results which led to his departure from the club and he feels security of coaching job in the country is not satisfactory for me.

"Coaching job in Ghana is not secured at all but that doesn't mean I've left the coach, I love football and coaching and definitely I will return when I leave lecturing," he added.

Hearts have installed former Ghana goalkeeper Edward Ansah in a temporary role for the remainder of the season as they look for a new substantive coach to fill the void created by Herbert Addo's departure.

The 21-time Ghanaian champions are battling to escape relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight and clash with bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday in one of Africa's biggest derbies.
