Hearts of Oak have moved to debunk reports that head coach Mohammed Polo has been dismissed.

The future of the Ghana and club legend has been speculated since Hearts crashed out of this season’s MTN Ghana FA Cup last Sunday after losing 2-1 to second-tier side Gold Stars.

A club statement said: “The attention of Management of Accra Hearts of Oak SC Limited has been drawn to speculations in the media that the Club has terminated the appointment Coach Mohammed Polo.

“We have also heard a few radio stations allege that Coach Polo stormed out of a meeting that had been called to discuss his performance.

“We wish to emphasize that no meeting has been convened by the Hearts Board to discuss Coach Polo's performance. Neither has the Club taken any decision to terminate his appointment.

“Coach Polo, his technical staff, Players, Management and some Board Members were in genial company at a dinner last night where he gracefully gave his team a two-week break.

“Mohammed Polo has a mandate to handle Hearts of Oak and the Management and Board of the club are committed to giving him all the necessary support to succeed.

‘’We wish to assure our numerous supporters that Hearts of Oak will bounce back powerfully in the second round.”

Polo, who took charge early last month after the dismissal of David Duncan, has won one match, drawn one and lost twice in four matches.

Hearts of Oak ended the first half of the Ghana Premier League in third place.
