Hearts of Oak sign coach David Duncan for three years

Published on: 13 November 2012

David Duncan has agreed a three year contract to coach Hearts of Oak, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Ghana Under-23 coach replaces CK Akunnor who was sacked last month for non-performance.

Duncan faces one of the difficult tasks in his coaching career by reviving an out-of-form Hearts of Oak side.

His first assignment will be against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League derby on Sunday.

Duncan has been unemployed since parting ways with AshantiGold in January 2011.

He has rich experience in the Ghana top-flight after successful spells with Great Olympics and Sekondi Hasaacas.

Duncan was coach of Ghana’s U17 team which won silver at the 2005 African Championship in Gambia.

He led the team to the 2005 FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru but could not progress from the Group stage.
