Coach David Duncan believes Hearts of Oak can still go on to win the Premier League.

The former AshantiGold trainer was named the new substantive coach of the Phobians – replacing CK Akunnor who was sacked last month following a poor run of results.

Many believe Hearts do not have the materials required to win the Premier League.

The former African champions have won only twice in the six matches played so far – placing them just a point above the relegation zone.

But the tough-talking Duncan still believes Hearts can reign supreme at the end of the season provided certain things a put in place.

“That (winning the league) will depend on a number of factors and that is being worked on,” he told Radio Gold.

“You cannot do things in isolation, it is not a one man orchestra.

“You do it in tandem with the people here and hopefully we can get all those factors in place.”

Duncan faces a baptism of fire as he takes his new side to Kumasi to battle champions and rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
