Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak will not sign former Ghana U20 defender Daniel Addo on fitness grounds, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The 25-year-old trained once with the Phobians amidst reports of joining the club.

But he has quit training with Hearts after head coach Herbert Addo signed former Dwarfs defender Vincent Atinga ahead of him.

Herbert Addo is not sure about the fitness of the former King Faisal defender and told the club's recruitment team he prefers Atinga to the 2009 Ghana U20 FIFA World Cup defender.

Reports in the local media claim Hearts of Oak's rivals Asante Kotoko are weighing options of handing the defender a deal.

Addo is a free agent after ending his contract with Ukrainian Premier League side FC Zorya following the completion of a season-long loan deal with Kazakhstani side Kairat FC.
