Hearts midfielder Kingston harbours dream of playing at 2014 WC

Laryea Kingston is still holding onto 2014 World Cup dream

By Patrick Akoto

Midfielder Laryea Kingston is still harbouring dreams of playing for Ghana at the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

The suspended Hearts of Oak talisman is yet to play for the Black Stars at the world mundial.

The 31-year-old has missed out on the country’s two successive world cup appearances held in Germany and South Africa in 2006 and 2010 respectively.

The former Heart of Midlothian and Vitesse Arheim workaholic midfielder says he will never rest until he plays for the Ghanaians at the highest stage.

“Sure I am still active and so I’m not giving up on playing for the Black Stars again,” Kingston said

“I’ve enjoyed my career and there is only one thing left to fulfil in my career and it is to play in the world cup and I will keep working hard and hopefully, it will come to pass.”

Kingston has built a bad- boy image for himself where he has clashed with national team coaches in the past.

He was reported to have rained some foul words on ex-Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac when he was dropped from the team that played at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The controversial enforcer is currently serving an indefinite ban at Hearts after a bust-up with head trainer CK Akunnor.

I’m disappointed in you Laryea for the comments you made on Hearts and your suspension. You think that refusing to take simple instruction from your leader not matter the age is good ground for you to continue to work with him.Saying simple sorry is too difficult for you; then can never be a good leader. humility counts my brother

  2. Nana Kwadwo says:

My Brother Laryea, are you sure with attitude? A word to the wise is enough.

  3. KWAME PITO says:

Dreaming is free. You don’t pay to dream so Yes You can keep dreaming.

  4. gamatche says:

change your character first, nobody doubts your talent and zeal, we all hate your indiscipline and pride.

  5. coconutman says:

If Laryea humbles himself before his maker and gets back to basics he could realistically play for the Black Stars. He needs to ask himself “why do I play this game? for money or the joy of playing?” Nothing is impossible. He could go back and help Hearts win the Premier league then the whole of Ghana will be begging Coach Appiah to include him on the team.

I remember the last game Laryea played for the Black Stars, he was so talented and I wanted to see him play so bad but he got kicked out of the game and I have never seen him play for the Black Stars ever since and I doubt I ever will. What a shame!

GHANA IS NOT SEEKING TO RECRUIT VAGABOND PLAYERS WHO WILL USE DRUGS IN COMPETITIONS TO DISCREDIT THE BS AND TO CHALLENGE OUR TECHNICAL HANDLERS THOUGH THESE HANDLERS ARE IN THEMSELVES CORRUPT…KINSTON’S ATTITUDE IS A CLEAR INDICATION OF INCOMPETENCE.A USELESS PLAYER INDEED!
