Hearts-Lions warm-up game called off

Posted On Saturday, 29th September 2012

Hearts of Oak will not face Lions' test

Accra Hearts of Oak’s pre-season test game with Heart of Lions has been called off  for lack of venue, Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm.

Lions were determined to apply the brakes on the Phobians’ impressive pre-season run at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

But outstanding issues with the venue’s readiness for the brand new Glo Premier League season forced club officials look elsewhere.

“We were initially considering the Accra Sports Stadium but because of the launch of the 2012/13 league and the Super Cup we moved it to Tema Stadium.” Hearts of Oak PRO Muheeb Saeed explained.

“Because of the PLB’s reservations with the venue for the upcoming season’s games, we were told we cannot use it. The next option was El Wak but the timing was not great for us so we resolved with Lions to call off the game.”

Hearts are undefeated in the pre-season.

Poor Hearts of Oak you have been forced to call off this pre-season match. After 100 years of existence you don’t have your own stadia. If you had you would not be calling off this match. You would have be making good revenue from match proceeds if you had your own stadia instead of always having to look for one. I think it is time you began to do things professionally and stop all the corruption.

waa LOOK! IN THIS DAY AND AGE, WE CANT EVEN FIND A GOOD FIELD FOR HEARTS AND LIONS TO PLAY A PRESEASON GAME? USELESS CLUBS
I PITY HEARST SUPPORTERS, TRULY. OVER 100YRS AND STILL NO CLUB STADIUM

    THIS ADVICE TO LIONS..
IM SURE U HAVE CONNECTIONS IN KPANDO. GO N SEE THE CHIEF OR WHOEVER N ASK FOR LAND TO BUILD A STADIUM. ASK AND U SHALL RECEIVE. AFTER THAT, GO TO SOUTH AFRICA. GO TO A LOCAL CLUB AND FIND OUT WHAT THEY DID TO BUILD THEMSELVES A CLUB STADIUM. THATS THE ONLY ADVICE I CAN GIVE. HEARTS OF OAK, KOTOKO ARE USELESS!
