Hearts of Oak are engaged in talks with telecommunications giants, MTN over a new sponsorship deal, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

This follows the expiration of the initial three-year sponsorship agreement between the two outfits which saw the South African multinational mobile company become the club's headline sponsor.

However, MTN's logo is found conspicuously missing on the front of Hearts' jersey at the start of the new Premier League season raising numerous speculations but the club has assured relations remain cordial.

"There is no problem with MTN, our sponsorship agreement has just come to an end," Public Relations Officer of Hearts Albert Commey exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"Discussions between the two outfits are however still ongoing with regards to a possible renewal so we wait and see what the outcome will be."

The club is rumoured to be holding out for an improved offer to either equal or surpass that of rivals, Asante Kotoko who are also being sponsored by MTN.

The Phobians entered into a sponsorship partnership with MTN for a three-year period during which time the 20-time League champions bagged GH¢4,050,000, a brand new bus and two 4X4 vehicles for the head coach and the coach of Auroras (the club's youth side).
