Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has welcomed the potential arrival of Stephen Adams to the club saying it will bolster their title winning chances.

The Phobians have been locked in negotiations to sign the World Cup goalkeeper from fellow Ghana Premier League side Aduana Stars.

Adams arrival could spell doom for McCarthy who has been first choice the past three seasons.

“I have always had competition but I have managed to sail through. If you want to be the best you have to work with the best so I welcome the arrival of anybody,” he told MTNFootball.com

“The team is under transition and it’s normal that strengthening is going on to improve the squad.”
