Hearts fans go banana-crazy, prevent players from training ahead of Medeama clash

Posted On Friday, 28th December 2012

Hearts fans have been unhappy with the performance of the team this season

Hearts are in turmoil ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Medeama after irate fans invaded the team’s training grounds and disrupted the session.

The disgruntled supporters have been unhappy with the patchy run of the side in the top-flight so far and vented their frustration on the players at their training base at the Accra Technical  Training Centre (ATTC) on Friday.

The supporters some of whom travelled from Winneba stopped the coach from exercising his duties and verbally attacked the players for their poor showing in the League.

The latest development could be a massive set-back for a side desperately in need of confidence to restore some pride.

Hearts lie just two points above the relegation zone after 3 wins, 5 defeats and 5 draws.

Point of correction again, GSN. This incident took place on Friday n not Wednesday. Hearts played a league match on Wednesday at berekum n got to Accra on Thursday. Cheers.

  6. KT says:

In as much as this act is not commendable, I think its gonna give the players a reality check. Most of these guys are playing for their own selfish interest: to travel outside Ghana and play for big bucks, so there is hardly any teamwork. Otherwise with the depth of individual quality, the team should be close to invincible. I entreat management to grab some kids into Auroras and sew in them that Phobia spirit.
