Hearts eye FA Cup progress

Posted On Friday, 8th March 2013

Hearts of Oak, the Ghanaian Premier League giants, have turned their attention to the MTN FA Cup

Hearts of Oak’s push to return to continental action is urging them to progress to the next stage of the MTN FA Cup.

The Phobians take on second-tier side B/A Stars in a round of 32 tie at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

David Duncan’s side (12th) have given up on the Ghanaian Premier League title chase and have now shifted their focus to FA Cup success.

Winner of the Ghanaian FA Cup competition claim the ticket to represent the West African giants in the CAF Confederations Cup competition.

And, club spokesperson Muheed Saed believes the players are mentally psyched to compete for glory in the competition.

“It will be very hard to get our hands on the league title now so the attention now is on the FA Cup because a triumph there will send us back to Africa,” he said.

He also revealed the club has planned a special incentive for the players.

“Management has something very special for the players if they succeed at the end of the competition,” he added.
