Ghanaian Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have confirmed they held talks with Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure over a possible deal.
Hearts are on the transfer market to shopping for a replacement for a striker to partner Gilbert Fiamenyo after the departure of Mahatma Otoo and David Duncan is satisfied with the output of the former Kotoko star.
Toure agreed to join the Phobians but his representative wants Hearts officials to travel to Abidjan tol hold talks about his contract but Hearts feel it would prolong the process and delay his registration.
Hearts also express concern over his International Transfer Certificate which could arrive late.
Toure, 24, last played for Kotoko – Hearts’ big rivals, two seasons ago and failed to return to the club following a botched move to the Egyptian Premier League.
Hearts would turn their attention else to search for a striker to serve as back-up for Selasi Adjei and Fiamenyoh.
