Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan has jumped to the defence of new striker Selaisie Adjei – insisting he is a quality player despite not impressing in the derby defeat to Asante Kotoko.
Adjei, who was brought in from Amidaus Professionals during the off-season is yet to open his Premier League account.
Many have touted the striking instinct of the swift forward after scoring ten league goals last season.
But he failed to show even glimpses of his touted qualities – leading to his early substitution from Sunday’s defeat to Asante Kotoko.
But coach David Duncan remains confident in the potential of his new striker – saying one bad game cannot be used as a measuring rod.
“I got him recruited into the team and based on that I have confidence in him,” he said.
“You don’t judge a player by just a single game.”
