Hearts coach CK Akunnor wants referees jailed

By Patrick Akoto

Hearts coach CK Akunnor wants referees to be jailed for bias officiating.

The ex-Ghana international had to be restrained after referee Musah Plato allowed what seemed a dubious goal to stand in their Premier League defeat at Berekum Chelsea last Thursday.

He went ballistic and nearly attacked the match officials.

Hearts were held by relegation-trapped Mighty Jets on Sunday in the top-flight and believe some match officials should begin serving jail terms to serve as a deterrent.

“When coach Sarpong said a referee will be shot one day, everybody was on his case and the authorities even wanted to ban him,” Akunnor said

“But what happened to the referee, nothing. Look at what happened and tell me whether the referee and his assistant deserve even a colt badge to wear.

“Some of them must be imprisoned because they are very wicked. They come into the game with the results in their pocket and yet expect great players from this league. It’s simply appalling,”

say and say again coach. am surprised at the behaviour of musa Plato. why won’t fans continue beating referess

Masa, this coach must be banned, when coach sarpong made such comments he was sent to the ethics commitee for him to retract and appologise, when maxwell konadu rushed on a referee he was banned two matches. How can a former captain of our beloved black stars chase a referee in an attept to beat him and conclude that they should be jailed. Let me ask CK, what should hearts managment do to him when he angreely substituted Uria Asante for hearts to lose to kotoko in ksi? I will also recommend that he should be CASTRATED. Will he be happy with this recommendation. My friend for those of us who watched the match on TV we cannot conclude that the player was in an offside position or not so lets be circumspect when commenting on such issues. A refree awarded a goal to hearts when TV replays showed that the ball did not cross the line what did he say to that? A refree dissallowed a sule muntari goal becuase he belived the ball did not cross the line but replays showed the ball had crossed the line. A refree awarded a penalty for kotoko when nath asamoah dived against chealse at ksi, what did ck say to that. i am not for aminute supporting referees but lets just be civil and not insight supporters against them when the commit mistakes especially from people who are suppose to know better. CK for gods sake you are a national team coach, a hearts of oak coach, a former captain of the black stars, a fomer professional who has played year outside ghana and above all a former footballer. Please come again.

Ha ha ha ha! I personally don’t see any reason why CK AKKUNOR should not be fined substantially and banned for at least Three years and have his coaching license suspended indefinitely for putting the game into total disrepute for attacking match officials, simply because a result he so wishes didn’t go his way. If there ever is a CLUB in Ghana that has benefited immensely from referees grace and BIAS officiating, it is obviously H of Oaks. For once a match officials decision has gone against H of Oaks, and they are making noises of jail term for referees, H of Oaks fans should at best spare Ghanaians of those cosmic noises that match officials were not fair to them. If CK AKKUNOR felt cheated by a match officials decision, there are appropriate quarters he can channel his Complains to for necessary actions to be taken against the officials instead of assaulting the match officials. Well, I can’t blame Coach Ck AKKUNOR for that low level action, CK AKKUNOR is a charismatic and graceful gentleman but CK seems to have been gradually infected with that PHOBIAN disease called, HOOLIGANISM BEYOND COMPREHENSION. The earlier Akkunor resign from Hearts the better, lest he get irredeemably consumed by the Phobian disease.

  4. KT says:

Kwame, please take it easy!!! CK is only frustrated. That’s why!! But please you were too harsh on him. Cool down. Haha. But i don’t blame the referees at all, it’s very difficult to see some stuff. I think we should give them the benefit of doubt. They don’t do things intentionally.

  5. KT says:

Fresher, you are supposed to be fresh, but it seems you are twisting the issues. Fine, I wouldn’t mind if CK is banned, or fined for his conduct if it is against the ethics. However you just cant say that Hearts benefits most from referees. Maybe that is your believe. But go and ask Major Larson how he won the league in 2003 for the Porcupine. He told Otumfuo, a report carried on PeaceFM, that he secured 21 out of 30 matches by seeing referees and other officials.

  6. KT says:

Fresher, just this year, Kotoro, a referee appointments head in Ashanti confessed having used his position to influence matches in Kotoko’s favour. Am I wrong? Last tow seasons, Rev. Osei Kofi, after he left the management of Kotoko, in a Daily Guide sports item, threatend to reveal and even spoke against the amount of money Kotoko spends on ways and means. That was the second time he made that statment in two years. Am I wrong? It is believed Phobia influences referees, but this is a scientific world where eveidence is based on empiricism. Where is the authoritative proof against Phobia. And you can’t say it isn’t true neither, but lets deal with the facts, not assumptions. If a Hearts official says it, then no one can challenge because he is from within. Lets deal with better ways of ensuring referees do better, than tacklimg the issues from a sided way.

  7. Elvis says:

The management of hearts of oak should sack C.K,he is not good for hearts,he took 11wise to relegation. How can he coach hearts, he is too young, inexperience and the players and everything is too big for him.

  8. Fresher says:

@ KT-: HA HA HA! I admire your good sense of humour, but there is the need for you to set your records straight in your line of argument. Major Yaw Larsen was not @ Kotoko in 2003, Major Yaw Larsen was not the One who made those unfounded allegations, it was Sylvester Asare Owusu who made that cynical allegations of Ways and Means because of his financial malfeasance and inability to render proper account for his administration’s stewardship to OTUMFUOR ASANTEHENE, after OTUMFUOR had demanded that though Sylvester’s administration had done well winning all the trophies they competed for and had brought much joy to the supporters, the WISE KING also demanded that an account should be made so that the supporters would know that the monies they spent to watch the team play were not being used by sylvester’s administration to line their pockets or run their private businesses. It was in Their desperate attempt to answer the Respected king that they made allegations of ways and means, as for ways and means, every football enthusiast in Ghana knows what ways and means are. As for Rev. Osei Kofi, he is more an embittered-traitor than a truth-teller, he made an allegations of some people using Kotoko’s for their selfish ends in the name of using the monies for spiritual purifications and fortifications. He made those exaggerated allegations after he was left out of the booty, Rev Osei Kofi never mentioned anywhere in his interview of match fixing or bribing match officials. To set the records straight and freshen your mind, No Kotoko officials be they former or serving has ever made a profound comments or proven allegations of referees bribing or match fixing.

  9. SHINJI KAGAWA says:

The illegal goal scored by Mahatma Otoo against Kotoko in Kumasi,The goal that never cross the line against Edubiase and a whole lot of dubious penalties for Hearts of Oak.
    Our mouths are silent.
