Hearts coach CK Akunnor hits out at players

Hearts coach CK Akunnor unhappy with players display against Dunkwa United in FA Cup

By Patrick Akoto

CK Akunnor launched a rare stinging attack on his Hearts side despite their 2-1 win over Dunkwa United to progress in the MTN FA cup.

The capital-based side were made to sweat for the victory after the second-tier side took an early lead in the first half.

But goals from striker Mahatma Otoo and midfielder Uriah Asante ensured the Phobians advanced to the next stage of the competition by the skin of the teeth.

But coach Akunnor was least pleased with his men’s output and did not provided excuses for them.

“I think they played poorly and that must be pointed out to them,” Akunnor said

“You can’t put such performances and expect to win all the time. I do not want to single out anybody but our output today was simply poor to say the least,”

The FA cup is Hearts only chance to win a silverware this season.

  1. Terror says:

This Boko Haram coach must stop the constant complaints and get down to work. If things were okay, he wouldn’t have been recruited. He should talk to his players instead of using the media all the time to vent his frustrations, that is a mark of a quality coach, you don’t run to the media everytime something goes amiss. Someone should tell him he is not handling a first division, second division team or any ordinary team. He is the coach of Accra Hearts of Oak and if the job is too much for him, he should just resign and stop blaming everybody for his non-performance so far.

  2. SETH says:

CK, I agree with you. Do not pamper any player.

@SETH, i think this is the most sensible comment u have made about your struggling hearts of oak this year. its good now u know KOTOKO is better organized than your team.

  6. X-MAT says:

we like our coach da way he is. we should bear in mind dat HEARTS OF OAK,we are now building a team and will beat da whole world in da next soccer season.wait and see PHOBIA next year. PHOBIA MASTER,PHOBIA WE NEVER SAY DIE UNTIL DA BONES ARE ROTTEN. If anybody have see a bone rotten b4 should come out and tell da whole world.

  7. KT says:

Oh Terror, your name alone is terrifying. Lol. Please this sort of labelling must stop. Hearts is headed by competent people now, owned by a traditional head just like Otumfuo, who is also a phobian @ heart. Well, I agree with CK, no favourite player. If you can’t play, you will be sacked!!!

  8. fiifi says:

@terror-you should be ashamed of yourself, whiles everybody is talking positive you are the only talking negative labelling others Boko Haram.
Do you. really understand your own name?

  9. allentin says:

Ck should put his feet down n make sure the players play to his instructions.gud luck next season as u build a team.
