Hearts coach Akunnor handed US$ 2.5m war chest

Posted On Tuesday, 14th August 2012

CK Akunnor has been given US$ 2.5m for transfers

Hearts coach CK Akunnor has been given 5 million Ghana cedis (US$ 2.5 million) to spend in the transfer market.

Akunnor dreams of augmenting his squad for the upcoming season after ending last term without a silverware.

This also means the capital-based club can compete with big spenders Medeama SC, Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko for marquee signings.

The club have acquired the services of enterprising left-back Seth Owusu from Medeama and former Ghana Under-17 captain Emmanuel Ansong from Aduana Stars.

Hearts finished third in last season’s Ghana Premier League and wants to win it this season.
