Hearts coach CK Akunnor has backed under-fire Seth Owusu

By Patrick Akoto

CK Akunnor reckons under-fire Seth Owusu will be a Hearts of Oak great.

The 20-year was substituted for the second time in a row in Hearts’ comprehensive 5-2 win over New Edubiase on Sunday.

The former Chivas US left full back is yet to find his feet in the Ghana Premier League despite impressing in the off-season.

He was a pale shadow of himself in the opening game against Tema Youth and struggled for the second time against the Bekwai-based side.

But coach Akunnor has jumped to the defence of the player and insists he will find his rhythm.

“I think he has a little problem. There are one or two things we must look at,” Akunnor said

“I believe in him. It happens in football. He will surely come back.

“I have no doubt in my mind that he will be back to his best.”

Owusu joined Hearts from Medeama at the start of the season.
