Hearts closing in on David Duncan appointment

In line Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan

By Ameenu shardow

Hearts of Oak have opened discussions with David Duncan to become the new coach of the side.

The Phobians are without a substantive coach since the dismissal of CK Akunnor last month.

Negotiations between Hearts’ board and the former AshantiGold trainer who has also coached South African top flight side Free State Stars are now at an advanced stage though no timeline has been given.

“We are still in the process,” Duncan told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Nothing has been confirmed yet. It is more in their (Hearts’) court now so I don’t know how long it will take.”

Hearts have endured a poor start to the Premier League season – winning twice, drawing one and losing three in the six matches played so far.

They next travel to take on rivals Asante Kotoko on November 18 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Will Hearts of Oak give coach Duncan a free hand to coach the club? How long will coach Duncan last? The problem with Hearts of Oak is that even though they claim to be professional, the club is still being run very traditionally. It is very unfortunate that after the success of 2000 Hearts of Oak was not able to build on that success.
