Hearts chief to quit on Monday

Posted On Monday, 1st October 2012

Fred Crentsil will resign as Hearts CEO on Monday

Fred Crentsil will resign as the Chief Executive of Hearts of Oak on Monday, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The astute football administrator wants to concentrate on his new job as the vice president of the Ghana Football Association.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that the former Sekondi Hasaacas director will officially hand over his resignation letter to the club’s Board Chairman Togbe Afede today.

Crentsil came under intense pressure to quit his post prematurely after the Phobians ended last season without a silverware.

Those pushing for his removal  argued he  did little to enhance the club’s brand.

His inability to land a headline and supporting sponsors to rival that of sworn rivals Asante Kotoko has been labeled as an unpardonable failure by section of the club fans.

He incurred the wrath of some supporters when he claimed he was begged into taken up the job when it became vacant.

This might be a blessing in disguise for the Oak Family. Is a great opportunity to get an ambitious person to much the demands of the greatest football team in GH.Randy Abbey will be a very good choice as he will like to prove himself to the Phobian family however the allegations of arrogance levelled against him by some section of supporters and top management members might make his return very difficult

I would not be surprised at all if Mr Fred Crentsil is begged to stay on the job again, because he was begged and begged to accept the job in the first place. Well, we are anxiously waiting to see what further step the phobians are going to take again, because those at the top echelons of Hearts of Oaks seems to have been caught up in a “ZUGZWANG” moment. ZUGZWANG occurs when a chess player has no good move because every move loses the game. My free advice to H of Oaks is simple and clear, ie, they should go to kotoko for some basic counseling on management. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
