Hearts of Oak board members sign bonds not to 'manage' players of the club

The entire membership of the Hearts of Oak board have signed unto bonds not to have economic interest in a player of the club.

The initiative is to ensure that members avoid a situation of a conflict of interest.

The club has identified this phenomenon as one of the problems hindering on its business in the transfer market - when selling and buying players.

The board led by Togbe Afede XIV have resolved to put a stop to this trend have all signed onto this bond.

Members of the technical team were also made to sign this undertaken.

“Your board has put in place a code of ethics that the board has signed,” Hearts’ Executive Board Member Togbe Afede XIV revealed at the launch of the club’s Executive Group on Monday.

“And in this code of ethics, no board member is allowed to own any player because there will be a conflict there.

“While players do contract negotiations, you realize that board members will be negotiating for themselves.

“But the code of ethics doesn’t apply to only board members. The technical team have all signed to this bond.”
