Heart of Lions have rescinded their earlier decision and withdrawn from playing in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Kpando-based were billed to play in the Champions League but with Ghana’s losing two slots, the 2013/2014 Ghana Premier League runners-up must now play in the second-tier competition.

But Lions are disinterested in playing in the Confederation Cup.

“We knew we have qualified to play in the Champions League only to be told last week that we are supposed to play in the Confederation Cup. We are not ready for that,” General Manager Yashin Laryea told SuperSport.com

"If there was going to be such a change, at least it should have been communicated to us long ago.

“The FA wrote to us to confirm our participation in the CAF Champions League and were given last week Wednesday as deadline which we responded to. I don’t think they’ve been fair to us.”
