Heart of Lions majority shareholder Randy Abbey is confident his side will secure the second CAF Champions League berth on the final day of competition in the Ghana Premier League.

The Kpando-based club need to avoid defeat at AshantiGold on Wednesday afternoon to play in Africa’s flagship club competition next year.

Second-place Lions saw their three point lead cut to two after a shock 1-0 defeat at home to struggling King Faisal last Sunday.

They need just a point to seal the spot but defeat at Obuasi and victory for Hearts of Oak against New Edubiase United.

Despite the slippery nature of the Len Clay stadium Randy Abbey is sure his side can pull through.

“We have a good chance of being in the champion’s league next season and I am confident that we will get the desired results,” Abbey said.

“It will be special to play there next season and we are looking forward to the game.”
