Esperance defender Harrison Afful is delighted to be making a return to the senior national team.
The 25-year-old has not been involved with the Black Stars for some time now despite helping the Tunisian giants to last yearââ¬â¢s Caf Champions League title.
He was dropped from the squad that placed fourth in the 2012 Nations Cup earlier this year â⬓ a decision which proved unpopular to numerous Ghanaian fans.
The former Asante Kotoko left-back has however hailed the decision by new coach Kwasi Appiah to hand him a recall to join 29 others for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia in June.
ââ¬ÅI am very happy because I have been waiting so long for this call up and at long last God has been so good,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅBeing called up again, Iââ¬â¢m going to do my maximum best and be in the team.ââ¬
Afful made his Ghana debut during the 2008 Nations Cup hosted on home soil when he came on as a substitute against Ivory Coast in the third-place playoff.
