Hacken reach deal to sell striker Waris to Spartak Moscow

Abdul Majeed Waris will join Spartak Moscow in January

Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is set to join Spartak Moscow during the January transfer window.

His Swedish club Hacken BK met with representatives of the Russian champions on Monday where a deal was struck.

No figures have been mentioned for the leading top scorer in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

Waris, 21, has been on the wish-list of stellar European clubs after hitting a rich vein of scoring form in the Swedish top-flight.

He has been monitored by scouts and representative of Manchester City, Arsenal, PSV and Chelsea this term but it looks like he might end up in Eastern Europe.

Waris has scored 24 goals for Hacken with five matches to the end of the season.

THIS FOOL WILL DESTROY HIS CAREER BY GOING TO RUSSIA. LOOK AT THOSE WHO WENT THERE…INKOOM, DEREK BOATENG, VAGNER LOVE ETC…WAT HAPPENED TO GOING TO A COMPETITIVE LEAGUE LIKE EPL, FRANCE, SPAIN…EVEN DUTCH, TURKEY OR SWISS IS BETTER. UR CAREER WILL STALL IN RUSSIA. THE WAY U PLAY IS DESIGNED FOR ARSENAL….ANYWAY,MAKE HISTORY IN SWEDEN BEFORE U LEAVE

  2. Buddy..... says:

Oh Oh oh……it seems aprox. 99.99% of the ghanaian players don’t do career planning because I can’t understand how he would go to Moscow at this stage of his career. The only reason for you to go there is if you bank at least 2 million euro net on a yearly basis excluding bonus.
Or maybe this guy is not as good as we think he is.
Derick Boateng (one of our best midfielders) and Inkoom at Dnipre….Owusu went to spartak and never beca,e the same…annan to ossasuna…we have players in China……hmmmmm
Why doesn’t he talk to Derick Boateng or Inkoom or Quincy, they will tell you all about that side of the world.
Appiah (capito), Essien, Sulley, Dede, Kwado Asamoah…these are the ones that do or did career planning and being so are the ones that are the most successful in the last 20 decades.
    It says something.

    Anyway….good luck and god bless

I don’t think there was football 20 decades ago, but i get your point. Russia is a terrible place for him at this stage of his carrier. Arsenal would have been a perfect place for him. Looking at his pacey style and killer instinct, i think he needs to go to a place where the football is fast paced and where he has a good chance of playing every game.

      Greetings,
      Al

  3. Nhyira Ba says:

Hey man do you want to be called Black Monkey well if that is what you want then you better go and enjoy Russian soccer

  4. Mochacho-USA says:

Bro ,I dnt think is the best of choice but all the best

  5. damba says:

Hacken put a price on the boys head that only russia can match.

    • Buddy says:

I assume he has an agent…..its his task to try and let the club ask for a price competitive enough.

and by the way…..the boy can always say NO. That the club wants to sell him does not mean he has to go to anywhere they want to sell him.

  6. Kwaku Tee says:

Why are you people angry it only confirms the mentality of Ghanaians, money first before anything else if people supported the decision of Asamoah Gyan to play in UAE why should they complain of Warris after all the Russian league is far ahead of the latter.I have lived in Moscow before and I can assure him it would be difficult for him to progress if he stays long in Russia.

  7. Kobi says:

I hope he does well, but this is not a good move, given the problems African players have had in Russia and the low profilel of the league compared to others. Russia is not the place to shine and make your name. Not many players move on to big leagues from Russia as no one really keeps tabs on Russian football unless you are become a star and playing consistently or are doing big things in the champs league.

    Good luck.

  8. Fiifi says:

Should he eventually end up in Moscow, his agent should make it a point to have it FIRMLY PLANTED IN HIS CONTRACT, HIS WISH TO BE RELEASED UNCONDITIONALLY FOR NATIONAL ASSIGNMENTS!!

  9. Jaja says:

Please don’t go! Come to Holland, Portugal or France instead.

  10. Jaja says:

Spartak are not the Russian Champions! Stupid GSN, check your facts first. You always publish statements not based on any data.

  11. KWAME PITO says:

There is some countries that when a soccer player ends up there, he is gone from any other opportunities. example is UAE, no big club will go looking to buy a player from the UAE why? because of the money factor. Those people are BIG SPENDERS compounded with the fact they have LESS QUALITY League. so BIG SPEND and LESS QUALITY means no team will look in that direction or players.

  12. D Light says:

This is wat happens wen u appoint a mediocre player as a captain over a bunch of young potentials who r feyish & Preyish to taking any advice… Even if it’s frm the wrong person.
It’s as if he (GYAN) long knew of his captainship so all he does is to assemble the likes of Waris &Yiadom to preach his underachieved Laurels, Edging em to emulate his mediocre career pack ; as usual telling em to take opportunities wen d money Bingo their road. He is seeding his Conto-Mammonic achievements in2 our boys wit his WACK Swag Awards & Etiselat Golden Boot.

Captains&Coaches play Key role in the Transfers n Developments of their playerz. The coach in his ‘Criteria for d Selection of National team playerz” outlines clearly leagues or countries which his playerz sld trade to b recognised 4 selection. Meaning anyone who dreams of playing the NT sld either b playing in his proposed league/country, or face missing callup’s regardless of FORM. So the Captain who is d Leader must Rep a perfect example of the coaches criteria. Hence if AA appoints Gyan as a substantive captain , den he’s telling all Ghanaians dat they can play in d Worse league n still b regarded as a National Asset… Or can retire anytime but wld b pleaded back wit a promise of making u d Capitano!
Are we serious as a NATION at ALL? Ridiculous Coach + Ridiculous leader = Ridiculous Moves & Results…
    Gud luck Waris!

  13. tesla addo says:

Warris should have learnt from senior players who were great potentials but due to the Russian league couldn’t live up to expectation: Baffour Gyan, Laryea Kingston, Shilla Illiasu, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie,Haminu Dramani etc. F.A. please advise the boy, he is making a wrong move.

  14. Maxwell Johnson says:

Wrong move, he should rather go to the Dutch Eredivisie and aid his development then the big clubs will come knocking. By the way who is his agent? The young chap risks having his career cut short if he moves to Russia, GH players never learn.

  15. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

u see warris, we are not AGENTS BUT 99PERCENT OF THE COMMENTS HERE ARE TELLING YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM RUSSIA. WAT HAS BECOME OF ETO SINCE HE WENT TO RUSSIA? SEEMED LIKE HE DISAPPEARED FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

  16. salman bunjah says:

    WRONG MOVE !

  17. agyei says:

Warris….consider it finished! You are done—-believe it or not!
