Edward Gyimah suffered title heartache on Saturday as Kaizer Chiefs beat SuperSport United to clinch the 2013 South African FA Cup.
The Ghana international’s impressive showing was not enough to help his side as Gavin Hunt’s side slumped to a 1-0 in extra time to hand the Nedbank Cup to Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Striker Bernard Parker produced a superb finish to send the Amakhosi fans into frenzy just three minutes into extra time after the match had ended goalless in regulation time.
This means Kaizer Chiefs have completed a double in South Africa after winning the PSL last weekend.
It also leaves the impressive Gyimah who has earned a call up to the Ghana national team for next month’s 2014 World Cup qualifiers without a trophy this season.
The defensive midfielder may still walk away with some personal glory after obtaining two nominations – the Best Player and Most Promising Star of the competition.
