Asamoah Gyan’s mum will  be laid to rest on April 6, 2013 in Ghana's capital, Accra.

The 60-year-old passed away through a tragic accident last week.

She will be buried two months after the 2013 African Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa.

The Black Stars skipper, credited with his high level of mental toughness will now turn out for his country at the time that his late mum will be lying in the mortuary.

The Al Ain attacker could be motivated to lead the nation to end a 31-year-wait for an African crown.
