Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan scored twice for ten-man Al Ain who opened their title defence with a humiliating 6-3 defeat to Al Ahli Dubai in the à UAE Pro League on Sunday.Ã
The former Udinese man scored in the 12th and 75th minutes as his side crashed to defeat in the opening weekend of the season.
The Black Stars striker opened the scoring for Cosmin Ol?roiu in the 12th minute but Brazilian forward Grafite equalised for the visitors six minutes later.
French international Jires Kembo-Ekoko steered a header home to restore Ain's lead six minutes before the break.
But Ben Saeed and Grafite scored thrice after the break to put Al Ahli 4-2 ahead.
Gyan registered his double when he converted from the spot in the 75th minute but Al Ahli registered two more goals through Grafite and Andre Jimenez.
The former Sunderland striker won the goal king crown last season after netting 22 times from 18 games.
