Asamoah Gyan is envisaging a much more difficult run for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Black Stars sealed qualification to their third straight finals despite a 2-1 loss to Egypt on Tuesday.

Ghana surged to qualification on a whooping 7-3 aggregate scoreline haven smashed the Pharaohs 6-1 in the first leg in Kumasi.

The Black Stars have been Africa’s brightest representative in the last two editions of the world showpiece which comes around once every four years.

The four-time African champions were the sole surviving team from the continent after the group stages at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

They again emerged the lone torch bearers almost four years ago in South Africa – where a last minute penalty miss saw Ghana crash at the threshold of being the first African side to qualify for the semi finals.

Many now believe subtly that the Black Stars have a real chance of going all the way this term gauging from the quality materials in the current squad.

But captain Asamoah Gyan reckons it will be a much bumpy ride in Brazil with Ghana commanding respect due to previous achievements in the competition.

“We always go us underdogs but people will now have respect for Ghana for what we achieved in the last two World Cups,” the Al Ain striker said.

“Let’s go to Brazil and see, we might just go through once again.”

The Black Stars will know their group opponents and their team base after the draw for the World Cup is held on December 6.
