King Faisal president Alhaji Karim Gruzah has kicked against the appointment of a Technical for the Black Stars ahead of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers but insists Kwesi Appiah will require one at the World Cup stage.

According to the out-spoken football administrator, Kwesi Appiah has the ability to qualify the team to the African Cup of Nations but will need an assistance to excel at the World stage.

The Ghana FA has set-up a three-man committee to find a suitable candidate for appointment as a technical adviser for the Black Stars following the the team's disastrous campaign at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

However, Karim Gruzah has kicked against such a move and insists the Ghanaian trainer will only need the services of a technical director at the World Cup stage.

“I don’t think he (Kwesi Appiah) needs a technical director to qualify the team to the Nations Cup,” he told Happy FM

“It is only when he qualify us to the Word Cup that he needs one. But as far as the African Cup is concerned he does not need one.

“You know  World Cup stage is a different situation and so it’s only at the point that I will recommend a technical advisor or director is appointed.

“I believe he can challenge his colleagues on the continent but not at the World stage.”

Critics have argued that the appointment of a technical adviser is an indictment on the prowess of the former Ghana international to lead the Black Stars to succeed.
