Greuther Fürth defender Abdul Baba Rahman has been tipped to make Ghana’s 2014 World Cup squad following his stellar performances for the German second-tier side.

The 19-year-old is among 30 players penciled down for the country international friendly against Holland on May 31, Accra-based Happy FM reported on Tuesday.

The left-back has become an important piece in defense for Frank Kramer side this term where his consistent displays as earned him plaudits from the 40-year-old manager.

Highly regarded as one of the finest talent to have emerged from the African country, Rahman is yet to get his chance with the Black Stars despite being called-up on three occasions.

The often reliable radio station reported the former Asante Kotoko defender is among a pool of 30 players Kwesi Appiah intends to call-up for the friendly against the Dutch as he firms up his final squad for the tournament in June.

The Dreams FC product must however fight for his places in a fierce contested position which has Tunisia-based Harrison Afful, Daniel Opare, David Addy, Lee Addy and Samuel Inkoom all in contention.

Rahman has insisted he can squeeze into the final 23-man squad after churning out impressive displays for the German outfit.
