Workers of the Graphic Communications Group Limited say they now work in fear following the dismissal of one of their colleagues, Daniel Kenu.

Mr. Kenu who was the company’s Ashanti Regional Editor was sacked over what the company says is disloyalty and misconduct.

Speaking to Citi News, Vice Chairman of the local chapter of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union at the Graphic Communications Group Limited, William Ashaley, says Kenu’s dismissal has caused fear among workers

“After many people realized that Kenu has been dismissed, was one of sadness and fear. For me I tried to encourage a lot of them, and I think that everybody should go about his work without fear. Be free to say what you have to say, be free to do what you have to do, we should know our collective agreement properly and then ensure that we do not infringe on the collective agreement. Even if it’s infringed, we are human and such things would have to be addressed in a proper way,” he said.

Mr. Kenu, who was attacked by thugs led by former Black Stars striker Baffour Gyan some months ago, unilaterally withdrew an assault case from court to the displeasure of management of the company.

The Graphic Communications Group subsequently sacked Kenu after recommendations from a committee set by the company to investigate the issue.

Meanwhile, Daniel Kenu has however accused the Managing Director of the company, Ken Ashigbey, of masterminding his dismissal.
