The lack of funds by Ghana’s Sports Ministry is affecting preparations for this year’s All Africa Games football tournament.

According to the Graphic Sports, the Ministry of Finance has yet to make good on a promise by the Minister of Youth and Sports that money would be released to ensure adequate preparation for the continent’s biggest multi-sport competition.

“Out of the GH¢16 million we need to participate in the games, only GH¢175,000 has been given to us,” stated the source.

The Black Queens and the national U23 men’s team Black Meteors will be playing in the 3-18 September Games in Brazzaville, Congo.

The team have begun camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

Meteors are in a difficult Group comprising Nigeria, Senegal and Egypt while the Queens Cameroon, South Africa and and Egypt.
