Ghana goalkeeper Stephen Adams says he is in disbelief following the sudden departure of Kwesi Appiah as Black Stars coach.

“I was very surprised and disturbed I must say,” Adams told GHANASoccernet.com

“I am yet to fully believe it and talk to someone from the inner corridors, but am very surprised.”

The Ghana Football Association confirmed on Friday that they reached an agreement to go separate ways with ex-Ghana international after two years.

Adams were one of many players who were given national team opportunities by Appiah.

The Aduana Stars first choice goalkeeper was handed a shock start in the 3-2 win over Togo in Lome on Wednesday.

Adams received rave reviews for his performance and would have earned more game time had Appiah remained in charge.
