Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako is urging his teammates to take enough rest to keep them freshened for the season.
The champions were dealt their first defeat of the season by Bechem United on Sunday.
Kotoko however maintained their lead in the Ghanaian top flight despite losing their 100 per cent start to the season at the Nana Gyeabour Park.
Many interpretations have since been read into Kotoko’s defeat but goalkeeper Amoako believes some of the players have started wearing out after playing a lot of games and therefore need rest.
“Right now I think we as individual players and as a team we need some time off to rest,” Amoako said.
“This I believe is very important because we have played a lot of games within a short period of time.
“We therefore need to replenish the lost energies with adequate rest.
“I advise my colleagues to take extensive rests after training so we remain fresh for the games ahead.”
Kotoko are two points clear going into Wednesday’s Ghana Premier League game at home to Berekum Chelsea.
