Phase two of the ongoing Glo Soccer Academy screening exercise has taken off in the Northern Regional capital of Tamale.

The screening process which moves to the second location in Ghana is geared towards searching for thirty three young football talents aged 14-17 across West Africa.

A long queue of anxious teenagers (most of whom were accompanied by parents) formed at the Tamale Sports Stadium where the screening is taking place.

It was however detected that candidates who missed the two-day opening screening exercise in Kumasi earlier in the week, had traveled to Tamale to be assessed.

Father of a 15-year-old hopeful, Mustapha Mulleh – an ex Hearts of Oak player shared his experience.

“My boy (Mustapha Ibrahim) was destined to be selected at the Glo screening today,” he said.

“He is very good but he has always not been so lucky in such programmes. No matter how good you may be, you still need a stroke of luck to make progress.

“If Allah wants my boy to rise to fame through the Glo Soccer Academy so be it.”

The screening process in Tamale will end on Saturday before the team moves into the final phase in Accra.

The screening process will then leave Ghana for six other venues in Benin and Nigeria before the thirty three shortlist is made to enter the Glo Soccer Academy House to be based in Nigeria.

Sixteen finalists will then emerge and will attend the famous Manchester United Soccer School out of which the Most Valuable Player will emerge.

The MVP will win a mouthwatering sixty thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC60, 000) cash price while the remaining 15 finalists would take home twelve thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 12,000) each.
