Ghanaian defender Gideon Baah scored the opening goal for Finnish side HJK Helsinki to help them beat Italian Serie A side Torino in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday night.

After a pulsating 0-0 draw in the opening 45 minutes, the former Asante Kotoko full-back hit the opener for HJK on the hour mark which urged them to proceed to record their first win of the Group stage.

HJK pressed after the break and came close on a couple of occasions but were unable to take the lead until the 60th minute when Baah chanced on a rebound to claim the opener.

While Baah was scoring, his Ghanaian compatriot Anthony Annan was also playing full throttle for the double-winning Finnish giants.

Annan was booked in the 95th minute for a bad foul.
