Gideon Baah has signed a two-year contract extension
Defender Gideon Baah has signed a two-year contract extension with Asante Kotoko, MTNFootball.com can confirm.
The 20-year-old’s existing deal with the Premier League champions was set to expire in September.
Kotoko thus risked loosing the player for nothing with mounting interests from several clubs.
The Kumasi-based club have however moved quickly to secure the future of the left-back while also consolidating its squad before the commencement of the new season.
“I can confirm to you that Gideon Baah has extended his stay with us,” Kotoko’s spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson told MTNFootball.com.
“We are glad with this move as it keeps our best players here while we look to bring in other quality materials to strengthen the team.”
Baah who joined Kotoko in 2009 from Sporting Mirren will now stay with the Porcupine Warriors until 2014.

I think Kotoko has made its best purchases ever in an off league season this year. Wow, Eric Bekoe, Ransford Osei, Sumaila Rashid, Kwabena Edusei, Richard Mpong, Godfred Asante, Ochaya, Evans Mensah, Seidu Bancey, Nurudeen Ali, Ben Adama, etc… with old guys like Helegbe, Yaw Frimpong, Ohene Brenya, Akuffo, Nii Adjei, Gideon Baah, Nti Boakye, etc who is gonna stop us?
