Coach Orlando Wellington’s future has been thrown in the balance after Ghana’s Under-20 side drew 2-2 with Namibia in a three-nation tournament on Sunday.

The future of the ex-Heart of Lions trainer has once again come under the microscope after the Black Satellites put up another uninspiring performance against their Namibian opponents.

His misery was compounded when the Namibia clawed back from two goals down to draw with the team at the Accra Sports stadium- heightening talks on his uncertain future with the team.

“I don’t know what is happening at all. We took the lead and for some strange reasons, the team just allowed their opponent to equalize the two goals,” Wellington Said

"I was not impressed. If you look at the way we allowed them to come in from the free-kick, the boys did not do well. To avoid problems, I had to change them."

"People should be patient with us and I'm sure things will be alright. The Under 17 failed to qualify for the World Cup and so when they were disbanded we did not have a crop of players to inherit from.”

History will mark him down as a massive failure if he is unable to build a formidable squad capable of qualifying  to the African Youth  Championship and reclaiming the title on the continent next year.

Wellington has not endeared himself to local fans after his team flopped badly at an eight-national tournament held in South Africa.

The Black Satellites were also thrashed 3-0 by the country’s Under-17 side in a friendly in May.

For a man who was an assistant to Sellas Tetteh when Ghana conquered Africa and the world in 2009, many have questioned his technical acumen to guide the team to the promise land after he failed woefully to defend the African crown in 2011.

There are many who believe Wellington is not the right man to take the Black Satellites forward after the recent serious failures but he insists he is focused on the task ahead.
