Ghana's U17 girls team named for CAF award

Black Maidens at the 2012 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup

Ghana’s U17 team that won bronze at the 2012 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup have been nominated for the CAF women’s national team award. 

The Black Maidens beat much-fancied Germany 1-0 in the third-place play-off match in Baku, Azerbaijan with ten girls.

They will contest the award with newly-crowned African Women’s Champions Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The winners will be disclosed at a gala in Accra, Ghana on 20 December.
