Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is yet to settle on his final squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as players continue to seek to impress the technical team.

GHANASoccernet.com will assess candidates competing for places in the Black Stars set-up for the 19 January to 10 February 10

We begin the first of our series by looking at Goalkeepers who are likely to make it to South Africa by reviewing the performances of the top five in contention for the three places at the competition.

But which three goalkeepers do you think Ghana should take to Africa Cup of Nations?

Fatawu Dauda

The AshantiGold gloves man has been consistent in the Ghana Premier League the past six seasons.

In November this year, he made his full debut against Liberia in September and kept a clean-sheet as Ghana beat Cape Verde 1-0 in a friendly international last month.

The 27-year-old  was a third-choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations finals on home soil but never kicked a match.

Adam Larsen Kwarasey

The Norway-born shot-stopper has become a firm staple for the Black Stars after his nationality switch was ratified by FIFA two years ago.

He made his Cup of Nations debut in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and was average but his self-confidence has improved since then.

Kwarasey made 29 appearances for Stromsgodset who missed out on the Norwegian title this year.

Daniel Agyei

The Liberty Professionals goalkeeper has been one of Ghana's promising talents since winning the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2009.

He sat on the bench at the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals.

At age 22, Agyei has made two appearances at the Nations Cup finals in 2010 and 2012.

His performances have been key for Liberty Professionals this season in the Ghana Premier League.

Ernest Sowah

He was third choice goalkeeper for Ghana under coach Goran Stevanovic and was an unused substitute at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The Berekum Chelsea number one helped the club to advance to the Group stage of the 2012 CAF Champions League where they finished third behind Al Ahly and TP Mazembe.

Philemon McCarthy

The Hearts of Oak goalkeeper was hailed for his impressive displays at the back end of the 2011/2012 season.

This term, the rotation policy at Hearts, has affected his number of appearances for the Phobians.

McCarthy's agility and composure make him one of the modern day goalkeepers in the Ghana Premier League.

He was on the stand-by list for Ghana at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was a substitute goalkeeper at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

McCarthy was between the sticks when Ghana won silber
